These cookies are incredible! The absolute best cookies that I have ever made. And I am giving the credit for fresh milled flour. These cookies didn't even last 24 hours in our house. I don't know what that says about us. This recipe makes 30 cookies. I will be waiting awhile to make these again because I do have a few lbs to spare and really lack the self control. BUT DEAR LORD! MAKE THESE! I
Barton Springs gifted this flour to me when I went to visit them and see their mill and operation. Which I will have to do an entire blog post about by itself because they are definitely grain gurus. I really love that company. All the specialty grains had me starry eyed.
BACK TO THIS FLOUR... I put it in the freezer when we got to our airbnb, flew with it home, and put it in the freezer when I got back. And I have been so excited to try it.
IT IS SO delicious! It is a soft red winter wheat, and I am here for it. Also they are trying out an affiliate program and gave me a discount code for you guys. It is MICHAL10. They give you a discount, and they pay me a small percentage. Their website is here if you want to check them out!
Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
3/4 cup softened butter
1/2 cup raw sugar
1/2 coconut sugar
1/2 tbs vanilla extract
1 cup unmilled soft white wheat grain
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees on convection if you have it.
Cream together softened butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix. Add flour, baking soda, salt. Mix until combined, and add chocolate chips last. This dough will be firmer. Use a small cookie scoop and drop them on a cookie sheet. Bake 12 at a time, and 8-10 minutes. 8 for a softer cookie, 10 for a firmer cookie. Let them cool, and enjoy!
Good luck rationing yourself a few.😁

Was this 1.5 cups unmilled or milled? I had a similar issue as another baker. I’m thinking it’s supposed to be unmilled?
Oh no! What could I have done wrong? I’ve read and re-read the recipe and I followed it. I’m waiting for my duh moment.…..
Is this 1 1/2 cups wheat before or after milling???
